Due to the development of a new section of the Talara refinery, the digital twin was modelled in ETAP including four main loading conditions and over a dozen scenarios, to carry out the following electrical studies: Load Flow, Short Circuit, Protection & Coordination, Load Shedding, Ground Grid, Reliability, and Transient Stability.

Minera Chinalco-Toromocho electrical system presented abnormal events that required specialized electrical studies to determine the root cause of these events.  Abnormal events included the failure of power transformers, cycle converters, untimely mill outputs, and others.

We mapped out in GIS future mining tracks and an electrical system that would be needed to run these trucks using a trolley system with DC substations. We performed the necessary studies to size the AC and DC components of the system.
